It has been 12 years since Beautyblender changed the way we apply our makeup with their reusable, teardrop-shaped makeup application sponges. Beautyblender took it a step further last summer when they launched Bounce, a whipped liquid foundation that has a velveteen finish. We didn’t have to wait another decade before they expanded their makeup line, because they added their first-ever trio of primers this past spring! The Selfie Shield Broad Spectrum SPF 38 Dry Oil Primer is the most innovative whereas the Opal Essence Serum Primer is the most hydrating. In the works is a full line of makeup products that are scheduled to be released over the next two years. Rea Ann Silva, the founder, said. “We have planned for a full-fledged line from complexion and eyes to lips and cheeks — all of that.”

Beautyblender Makeup Review

The latest addition to their makeup line? Their Glass Glow Shinelighter™ Crystal Clear Highlighter, which delivers a crystal clear radiance that brings life and dimension back to your makeup. That’s not all! Proving that there is always room for innovation, the beloved beauty brand just unveiled five makeup brushes, The Detailers. The Detailers include Big Boss, Shady Lady, Wing Man, High Roller, and The Player. Each makeup brush is cruelty-free with vegan bristles. Three of the makeup brushes from The Detailers collection are dual-ended, featuring a cooling face roller on one end. Prices for The Detailers makeup brushes range from $22 – $60.

Bounce Liquid Whip Long Wear Foundation

Beautyblender’s Bounce Liquid Whip Long Wear Foundation ($40) came in at the perfect time, especially with the summer in full swing! This weightless foundation offers extensive coverage, leaving a flawless, radiant finish. It is available in 40 buildable shades, targeting all skin tones and undertones. To achieve the most desirable results, simply blend the foundation evenly on the skin using a Beautyblender makeup sponge ($20). In real life, the skin looks picture perfect for up to 24 hours. 90% of testers in a consumer study agreed that they would replace their current foundation with Bounce.

Bounce features a built-in palette on one side where the foundation is dispensed before application. This enables fingers, blenders, or makeup brushes to pick up the foundation and apply from there. Rea Ann Silva believed that this would encourage people to stop using the back of their hands and making their hands dirty with their makeup. “You have more control when you put it in that dish; you can bounce it away without overapplying,” she noted. “I wanted to bring this concept of play and ease of experiment to the consumer so it made sense for me to turn the bottle sideways and make it a palette.”

I opted for the 2.40 N/O (medium olive) shade and it matches my skin tone perfectly. It isn’t often that I’m blown away by a foundation, but this foundation truly goes for the wow factor! I love how no matter how is layered on that it doesn’t look the slight bit of unnatural looking in the process. Will I be purchasing this in the future? That is a resounding yes!

The Leveler™ Pore Minimizing Primer

I’m always on the lookout for a good primer to help minimize the appearance of large pores, especially problematic areas like my cheeks and nose. Finding a primer that will remedy this situation without overly drying out my skin is few and far between. The Leveler™ Pore Minimizing Primer (Light-Medium + Tan-Deep; $32) is one of the few primers that work beautifully for my skin! This primer has a lightweight texture that never feels suffocating on the skin, unlike other mattifying primers. What’s the secret? It contains niacinamide and manuka honey to help blur the appearance of redness and witch hazel to help minimize pore size for skin that’s smoother than glass.

Beautyblender Selfie Shield Broad Spectrum SPF 38 Dry Oil Primer Review

Have you been looking for a sunscreen that actually works with makeup? Look no further! You’ll never forgo SPF again after you have tried the Selfie Shield™ ($32). No matter your skin tone, this totally invisible, quick-absorbing dry oil helps both protect and prep skin with no residue or cast. It’s a feel-good formula that offers multi-spectrum protection from UVA, UVB, and HEV (High Energy Visible) light to help fend off damage from both the sun and your tech devices. Finding a hydrating SPF that is not emulsifying my makeup in the process is refreshing! You’re essentially getting three products in one travel-friendly bottle: moisturization, skin protection, and a primer.
