This summer, SpongeBob Squarepants turned 20! This beloved nautical creature celebrated his 20th birthday on July 14th. Nickelodeon® celebrated it with an all-new 1-hour episode (SpongeBob’s Big Birthday Blowout). It doesn’t look like SpongeBob is slowing down any day soon! The series is in its 12th season right now. The franchise is also preparing a new movie called The SpongeBob Movie: It’s a Wonderful Sponge, which is set to release in 2020.

SpongeBob was my favorite show when I grew up, would always watch it with dad before going to school.
My kids love Sponge Bob! When we take long trips, we have a few Sponge Bob DVD’s that entertain our kids for quite some time. Honestly, my husband and I also enjoy SpongeBob.
We had a fish tank and had a bunch of characters and buildings from SpongeBob.
My kids liked Spongebob but I did not care for it.
I remember my nephew dressing up as SpongeBob for Halloween a few years ago.

When Spongebob was in it’s height of popularity my brother loved it (older, like in his 30s) and would constantly repeat the phrases at any family function. It was genuinely funny to me, and it’s always made me think of him since. 🙂
