It seems like it was yesterday when I took an at-home pregnancy test that confirmed that I was expecting my first child. Those 9 months were akin to a fairy tale. We were so ecstatic when he finally arrived and we loved every bit of that 6 lbs. and 11 oz. baby. That’s why it’s hard for me to believe that he’s now in the 5th grade.
6 years later, I brought my other pride and joy, my daughter, home from the hospital. It goes to show how fleeting time is since that bundle of joy will be turning 5 years old next summer. She is a bundle of energy that keeps me on my toes!
My ever so curious and exuberant explorer is always flitting from one destination to the next. I quickly learned to relish in every moment and cherish it, even the most mundane, especially since children grow up in a blink of an eye! Now that I am a mother with two children of my own, I understand what my mom means when she says that when they’re young, they’ll tug on your apron strings and when they’re older, they’ll tug on your heartstrings. How true that statement is! Therefore, I cherish their limited years of childhood, as I know that someday they’ll be on their own, venturing adulthood. And, I’ll miss those days that they were mine.
I know that many parents envision a close age gap between their children, but the 6-year age gap between my children doesn’t deter them from being the best of friends! They have their fair share of disagreements. I understand that this is always expected of many siblings despite how close or far the age gap is between them. That’s why I don’t have an inkling of a doubt that they’d quickly warm up to a third addition, especially since my daughter has been mentioning that she’d love to have a baby brother or sister. Well…
I’M EXPECTING!
I’m looking forward to seeing the smiles on their faces once I break the news to them that we’ll be adding another addition to the family.
I used the e.p.t® Digital Pregnancy Test to confirm my third pregnancy. My husband and I were elated when the word “Pregnant” reading appeared in the display window. It’s amazing how at-home pregnancy tests by e.p.t® have come a long way since their inception in 1977. It’s even more amazing how dramatically they’ve changed since I was pregnant with my first child. Time is of the essence when you’re waiting to be informed the biggest news of your life. 8 out of 10 women report that they first learn that they’re pregnant from an at-home pregnancy test, and nearly half say they took the test immediately after buying it.
