How I Had a Comfortable Natural Birth

For over 20 years now, TriLight Health faithfully supplies their customers nationwide with their high quality line of liquid herbal products. They were the first company to specialize in great tasting, non-alcoholic herbal formulas for pregnancy, children, and the family.

I opted for two of their Pregnancy Formulas, the Labor Prep and Contract Ease ($14.95 – $149.95).

I started using Labor Prep during the last few weeks of my pregnancy since it’s recommended that you use 1/2 teaspoon 2-3 times daily during the last 5 weeks of pregnancy. It is combined with herbs (Blue Cohosh, Squaw Vine, False Unicorn, and Black Haw) traditionally used at term to prepare the uterus for birth. Even though I gave birth to my daughter a couple of weeks early, there was a noticeable difference within the first week. There was a tremendous amount of pressure on my bladder for the last few months, causing a lot of bathroom breaks. I could barely write one sentence on a blog post without not having to go to the bathroom! However, I believe that this product helped ease the pressure, while also helping my body prepare for an effortless, less painful, natural delivery.

I wasn’t quite prepared for the after-birth pains with my second child. I don’t recall experiencing any with my first child, but it’s said that they are usually common (and more painful) with each child that you have. I started using the Contract Ease shortly after my delivery. It contains herbs (Crampbark, Wild Yam, Black Haw, Scullcap, Valerian Root, Hops, Chamomile, Fennel, and Catnip) traditionally used to support the female glandular and nervous system after birth. While the pain was quite evident, it was tolerable after using this product. Therefore, I didn’t bother having my prescriptions filled for any of the medications (e.g. Motrin and Percocet) that my OB/GYN had prescribed me. I honestly wouldn’t have felt comfortable taking any of these medications since I try to go the natural alternative much as possible!
