It’s almost hard to believe that the summer is coming to an end and that the back-to-school season is quietly peeking around the corner. Much as I hate that the summer break with my son is short-lived, I must admit that I love back-to-school shopping. A new school year always signals a clean slate: A fresh start – from new notebooks and pencils to newly-bought clothes to a cool backpack! The only thing thing that I don’t really like shopping for are backpacks. Many of the ones at the mainstream stores are stylish, but when it comes to being strong and durable, it’s a different story.
The Big Kid Backpack ($52; Available in Papar, Nigel, Percival, Alexander, Dieter, Lucas, Fernando, Ester, and Juju) is just what my son needed to carry all of his school essentials. It’s all I look for in a kids backpack and more – comfortable, spacious, durable, and adorable! To top it off, it is PVC free, lead free, and phthalate free. The exterior features a large front pocket and two side pockets. It also has a padded back panel and shoulder straps. Sized for ages 5 to 10.
The celebrity children are even sporting Big Kid Backpacks, Wheelie Bags, Lunch Boxes, Water Bottles, and Little Kids Backpacks from Beatrix New York. Halle Berry and Nahla enjoyed a day out with Dieter, the monkey; Katie Holmes and Anatasia, the piggy, were spotted hanging out at Suri’s school; Maggie Gyllenhaal and Ramona hit the town with JuJu, the ladybug; Meg Ryan and Daisy headed to school with Yuka, the bee; Ashlee Simpson and Bronx were spotted with the Alister lunch box.
