Twotara is derived from the word TUATARA, a chameleon-like lizard – native to New Zealand – that changes colors over time. Like the lizard, their clothing pieces “change colors” for those parents who want to be in for a surprise in the delivery room, in regards of the sex of the baby.
I’m not in for a complete surprise since I was informed that we’ll be having a girl in July, but I still couldn’t resist the uber cuteness of the Newborn Romper ($30), a long-sleeve garment that features pink on one side and blue on the other. While I’m not really particularly fond of the color pink on boys, especially if you don’t want your baby’s gender to be mistaken, I believe that baby girls can get away with wearing a blue and white romper, if done right.
The Newborn Romper fit sizes 5 – 8lbs, up to 21 inches, and is superb in quality. It’s made of 100% interlock knit cotton, which is really soft. The design is fun, yet flattering and sophisticated.
They don’t only offer rompers, but have quite of a selection of gowns, booties, footies, hats, and mitts. Sizes range from newborn – 0-3 months, and their price point is $5 – $35.
