Isabella Oliver Maternity Review

Share this post:

No longer are the days that being pregnant meant you had to succumb to wearing a muumuu or sweatpants. Maternity clothing is not only comfortable, but it is now becoming fashionable enough to wear before, during, and after pregnancy. It’s hard to not fall in love with what the maternity industry has to offer, especially when celebrities such as Heidi Klum, Jessica Alba, Nicole Richie, Jennifer Lopez, and Laila Ali makes it look so effortlessly chic when rocking the bump.

Isabella Oliver was launched in 2003 when the founder couldn’t find maternity clothing she actually wanted to wear. She created this line for the modern, fashion-forward woman in mind. More and more designers started to take note soon after that.

The collection features their signature wrapping and ruched detailing that not only complements the pregnant shape but also grows with you. You’ll find iconic ready-to-wear clothing, from fabulous dresses and timeless outerwear, to effortlessly stylish separates. Whatever the occasion, Isabella Oliver 365 offers versatile pieces that mix classic design with contemporary details. Their designs have been worn by some of the most glamorous women in Tinseltown. This includes Jennifer Garner, Angelina Jolie, Sarah Drew, Gwen Stefani, Selma Blair, and Bryce Dallas Howard.

As each week goes by, my expanding belly is starting to make it slightly uncomfortable for me to wear some of my favorite jeans. I was able to wear all of my jeans with such ease with my first pregnancy, but this pregnancy has been a tad different. Thankfully, I can wear pants such as the Sateen Cargo Pants ($155, available in Caviar Black or Khaki) with such style, comfort, and effortless ease. The soft, luxurious sateen material and the bump waistband adds to it.

The lustrous finish makes it perfect for a day out with the family or a night out on town with your significant other. I don’t like the idea of adding a belt below the belly, but I love how the model manages to pull this look together. Personally, I love pairing it with a white tank, rolled up cardi (the Breaking Away Cardigan by Idylle Clothing is my favorite!), heels, and accessories (can never go wrong with a necklace and/or bold bracelet). They suggest wearing it two different ways:

1. Wear them rolled up with Converse, a ruched tee ($65; Available in Azure Blue, Caviar Black, French Navy, Heather Grey, Pure White, and Pink Rose) and a knit cardi ($155; Available in Blue Melange, Orchid Pink, and Navy) for a contemporary day look.

2. For dinner with friends add heels, a sequin waistcoat ($149.25) and coral lips.

Their prices may be off-putting for some, but I’ve learned from experience that buying a few key pieces made of high quality will last you during those nine months and beyond.
