My Ubby Custom Itty Bitty Blanket Review

There’s a story behind everything. The story behind My Ubby started in February 2001 with the birth of their first child, Joe. Shortly after his arrival, they created a one-of-a-kind baby blanket, using an old hand-me-down sewing machine they’ve long since replaced. Instead of just another lovie or woobie, their son named the handmade blanket “ubby.” And it hasn’t left his side since.

Their daughter, Molly, was born in 2004, a new “ubby” soon followed, and their family welcomed the addition with open arms. An ubby, they had learned, is another word for friend.

Now they’re pleased to share these wonderful, warm and cuddly custom blankets with the special people in your lives. They also build custom pillowcases, but they’re not available online at the moment. However, you can contact them at customercare@myubby.com if you’re interested in ordering. They hope you’ll enjoy your ubby experience. They know they have.

I was recently given the opportunity to a “build” an itty bitty blanket (15″ x 15″; $22 – $30) by using their blanket builder. Their online blanket builder enables you to create a personalized blanket within minutes. They offer three different sizes – Itty Bitty (15″ x 15″), Original (35″ x 45″), and Big (50″ x 60″). The prices range from $22 – $98. You can choose from over 50 fabrics, 12 satin edge color options or serge finish, 3 sizes, and up to 54 characters of embroidery personalization.

I opted for the Swirly fabric on one side and the Bubbles fabric on the other side – both in a light pink shade called Blush. I selected the black satin for the edge, and I had my daughter’s name embroidered in the Feather font.

I was a bit surprised that this blanket came in such a timely manner, considering that it was personalized. I love it when a company treats a reviewer as a customer. This shows professionalism, and gives me insight on how they treat their actual customers.

The blanket itself is simply gorgeous and utterly soft. I couldn’t think of a better gift if you’re stumped at what gift to give at an event such as a baby shower. This blanket would make a great keepsake blanket due to the personalization. The size makes it perfect for traveling, and it can be used as a security blanket or for baby dolls. However, I recommend selecting a larger size if you’re wanting your little one to have something to cover up with since the itty bitty blanket is more of a cuddle blanket.

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
