I’ve always considered myself savvy when it comes to finding the best deal, but I’ve made some mistakes here and there along the way. My biggest mistake with my first child was buying a lot of baby clothes during and after pregnancy. About half of these clothes weren’t even worn, considering how fast babies grow! I could have saved myself a bundle by not going overboard with my first child, but I’ve considered this as a valuable lesson learned.

I’m wising up with my second child by buying the essentials. I’ve been scouring the clearance racks at stores, which I’ve always loved to do, even as a child. However, I’m mostly buying things brand new or gently used at a really good price at yard sales and thrift stores.

I was recently given a gift card to shop at LoobaLee, a marketplace for Mom to Mom resale of quality children’s clothing. I bought a beautiful Gymboree Dress for $11 (Originally: $42.75) and a Gymboree Halter Dress for $6.50 (Originally: $29.75). Both were brand new with the tags attached. I plan on getting my daughter’s picture taken in the Gymboree Dress that is adorned with the pink flowers (dress on the right). The seller made an honest mistake by sending me a different summer dress in the placement of the one shown on the right. She quickly got in touch with me after I contacted her about it, and told me to keep the third dress (not shown in the picture) for my trouble after I offered to send it back. I received the correct dress a few days after that – just in time for my review! I wish there were honest sellers like her.

I love that this web-site isn’t anywhere near close to being an auction site, because bidding isn’t involved. All of the listings are posted with a fixed priced, controlled by the seller. Think of etsy, but only with more of a focus on clothing for infants, teens, and tweens. However, they are planning on adding more categories in the future, such as specialty toys, gear, media, maternity, and Match with Mom. Also, they currently don’t allow handmade items to be listed, but they’re considering on it for the future since it’s in such high demand!

Other Things I Love About LoobaLee:

Listing on LoobaLee is 100% free! There are no insertion fees, subscription fees, or end of sale commission fees. There are no hidden fees, such as picture fees or add-ons. However, they do plan on introducing premium services in the future.

Listing on LoobaLee is easy. You can have a high quality listing in just 14 clicks. It’s much simpler than any other marketplace or swapping site in that regard.

No fancy templates are required.

No spammy listings. Their custom listing approach protects against spam and low quality listings. For example, brands not on our menus can’t be listed. They have over 1,100 brands and continuously add new ones. Note: At this time, handmade items are not allowed to be listed.
