Southern California-based musician and guitar maker Tish Ciravolo launched Daisy Rock Guitars in November 2000. Inspiration came from her oldest daughter Nicole when she drew a picture of a daisy. Tish added a guitar neck and headstock to her daughter’s picture. This eventually led to the first model of the “Daisy” guitar. Rock legend Courtney Love fell in love with the guitar at first sight, and gave her approval by autographing the guitar. Since then, Daisy Rock Guitars has gained an impressive amount of celebrity fans. Their celebrity fan base includes Joan Jett, Dolly Parton, Aly & AJ, The Veronicas, Avril Lavigne, Hilary Duff, Annie Clements from Sugarland, Chantal Claret from Morningwood, Joan Osbourne, Lisa Loeb, Miranda Cosgrove, Norah Jones, Miley Cyrus and the GoGo-GosEven some male musicians such as Jeffree Star and Robert Plant from The Cure can’t resist the power of Daisy Rock. They work with over 600 bands!
Tish Ciravolo mentions on her site that Daisy Rock’s mission is to do “whatever it takes to help girls play guitar and enjoy music.” She also goes on to say that she extended her motherly instincts to all girls and wanted to “create a better experience for girls (and women) in the music industry.”
Daisy Rock Guitars has a wide of selection of electric and acoustic guitars made for your size and style personality. Not only their guitars are pure eye candy, but they come in sizes that fit girls (and women) better since the guitar necks are ideal for smaller hands. Our favorites include the Rock Candy Series, Siren and Stardust Elite Series. A lot of men (and women) will love the Rebel Rockit Supernova and the Stardust Retro-H Deluxe.
Debutante by Daisy Rock is a line of guitars and basses that are ideal for beginners. It includes Daisy, Butterfly, Heartbreaker, Star and other models geared for beginners. While on the hand, the Daisy Rock is a line of professional guitars and basses that have full-scale models such as the Rock Candy, Stardust, and Siren series.
I received the Debutante Rock Candy Princess Electric Pack (Reg. $329.95 Now. $199.95). It includes all the essentials for girls to attain rock star status – a gig bag, Alfred Music Publishing’s Girl’s Guitar Method instructional DVD, electronic tuner, 10 watt amplifier, guitar cable, guitar strap, guitar picks, string winder and polishing cloth.
Even though the Debutante Rock Candy Petite Short Scale is ideal for ages 8 and up, I wouldn’t recommend buying it for a girl that young, unless she was serious about learning how to play the guitar since this guitar is most certainly not a toy! However, I’m a firm believer that music is one of the best ways to foster a child’s creativity. This guitar is definitely something they will appreciate as they get older if kept in good condition.
Both of my brothers are guitar players, and they were even impressed with the beautiful design and professional craftsmanship. It is not cheap or flimsy in the least. This beauty is rock sturdy! I’m actually in the midst of taking guitar lessons myself, and I believe that this guitar is great to start out with regardless of your age! However, you might want to progress to the full-scale models once you get past beginner’s status.
The guitar is slightly heavy, but it is still comfortable to play. It is equipped with a full range pickup, precision tuning machines, fully adjustable bridge, and truss to help keep the neck at a perfect angle. And, the sound quality is outstanding! This would make an excellent gift.
