It seemed like spring would never get here! I can’t believe the days are longer, the birds sing louder, the cherry and magnolia trees are in full bloom, and the weather is warm enough for me to crack open the windows, signifying that spring is here! Trees showing signs of life after a long, dreary winter; thick, lush, green grass; and gorgeous, vibrant, and fragrant flowers always put me in an upbeat mood during the springtime. Beautiful as spring is, there is a downside: seasonal allergies.
I have suffered from allergies throughout each year since I was a young child, but it gets worse in the spring because of the countless allergens in the air. There are even some days that I’m unsure just what is setting my allergies off.
Suffering from allergies is one of the most miserable feelings in the world. There are a lot of days when I can’t breathe out of my nose and I can’t stop sniffling and sneezing. I can only imagine how my children must feel with their seasonal allergies. Some of the ways we help manage our seasonal and year-round allergies is washing our face and hands regularly, just in case we somehow got in contact with dander, dust, or even mold; using an air purifier with HEPA filter, and just getting plenty of rest.
My family also amps up our water intake during allergy season to keep us well hydrated. Besides, drinking water is beneficial in so many ways! It’s dated advice that’s not senseless hooey, after all. Sometimes, I even add flavor to my water with fresh fruit like citrus.
With the allergy season hovering over us, I have partnered with the makers of Claritin RediTabs® for Juniors.
