Once upon a time in the small Italian town of Bologna-Salami, there lived a lonely toymaker named Gelato and his assistant Cricket. Gelato had no children he could call his own, so one day he decide to carve a little boy out of wood. His name is Pistachio!
Young Pistachio gets involved with some slippery characters. His bad choices and disobedience towards Gelato lead to some sticky situations.
I jumped at the opportunity to review the Veggie Tales: Pistachio DVD, because I love the concept behind the creative series. Veggie Tales: Pistachio puts a positive spin on the classic tale of of Pinocchio. The lesson with this DVD is obeying your parents, which we know that most children struggle with every now and then. With an important message and a wonderful sense of humor, “Pistachio” reaches out to an audience of all ages. This DVD emphasizes that parents are older and wiser and tell children to do things out of love for them. It even includes catchy songs to engage younger audiences.
