It seems like it was yesterday when my little guy made his grand entrance into the word! He is now a bundle of energy that keeps me on my toes. My ever so curious and exuberant explorer is always walking from one destination to the next. I relish in every moment and cherish it since children grow up in a blink of an eye!

Probiotics for Babies

Nothing is more rewarding than parenthood, but I’m sure that almost every parent can agree that those first few months can be a challenge. My little guy certainly didn’t have it easy! He experienced everything from chronic constipation to severe colic. He was inconsolable during these moments and would cry off and on for hours throughout the night. This was overwhelmingly frustrating, exhausting, and heartbreaking since I had practically tried everything to help him! I tried eliminating certain foods from my diet and made countless calls or visits to the pediatrician. I finally had my ah-ha moment when I learned that there were probiotics for babies as well. Only if I knew of their existence on day 1!

Does Your Baby Need Probiotics?

Did you know that gut bacteria can affect the health of your baby? According to recent studies, 9 out of 10 babies are missing the good bacteria they need to protect their gut. The first 6 months of baby’s life are critical for immune and metabolic development. In the recent years, the gut has been getting the recognition that it deserves. Kris Carr is a wellness activist and author that once stated, “Gut health is the key to overall health.” I couldn’t agree more! This is why probiotics are so popular these days and for the right reasons, too.

My son is now 13-month-old yet he still takes Evivo since being introduced to it almost a year ago. Evivo helps improve digestion and elimination, balances gut flora, and helps stimulate the growth of microorganisms while outnumbering the bad bacteria within the gut. The probiotics in Evivo also help outnumber the bad bacteria within the gut. The intestinal system can get weakened by many negative factors that can encourage the growth of bad bacteria. Studies have shown that digestive issues are often caused by the lack of proper balance of gut bacteria.

Probiotics are so tiny that billions in a single dose are needed to be effective. But, not all probiotics are created equal, and it that’s where it can be confusing! Their effectiveness can vary depending on the bacterial strains they contain, the way they are made, and quality control in production.

How Does Evivo Work?

How does Evivo work? One sachet of the probiotic powder can be combined with 3-5 ml of breast milk in a small mixing bowl. I put the mixture in an enclosed syringe that is also provided and then give it to my baby. Easy peasy! Evivo stores best in the freezer until ready to use. You can also keep it in the refrigerator for up to 1 month.

The probiotic powder contains B. infantis, the good bacteria, which has disappeared over generations. In fact, babies in the United States no longer receive B. infantis at birth. Research has shown that B. infantis reduces harmful bacteria that is linked to eczema, obesity, diabetes, and allergies. Evivo is actually the first and only probiotic that is clinically proven to restore a baby’s gut microbiome to its original and natural state. It is best probiotics for babies to use it early on since the first 6 months of baby’s life are critical for baby’s autoimmune and metabolic development.

  • I think everyone could benefit from probiotics, babies and adults alike! I think it’s great that you are starting your baby on probiotics!

  • I didn’t know about these things! Glad that I’ve read it. I think I need to research more about this and be serious about our health and take in more pobiotics especially the kids.

  • I know probiotics are good, but I didn’t even think about it for babies. It’s great that you are bringing awareness to it for the little guys! 🙂

  • I actually did not know that babies need probiotics. I learned that it could be beneficial to them when one of my cousins had her first baby and her husband happened to be doing his pediatrics internship at the time. His attending actually told him that the should do it, not right at first but down the line, and she mentioned it on Facebook. I was shocked but in a good way!

  • I have heard of probiotics before but never thought about giving it to babies. It is such a good idea and I am glad it is working for your son. I will be sharing this with my daughter. My grandson is 2 months and I think he can benefit from using probiotics.

  • My grandchildren’s pediatrician recommended probiotics. I guess that went well because they are growing up healthy and strong. They seem to be doing well fighting off illnesses. Gut health is essential to help them absorb those nutrients to build their immunity.

  • I wish that I knew about probiotics for babies when my middle child was little. He had severe eczema and I am guessing probiotics could have helped him a bunch. He still has mild problems but anytime he sweats too much it causes a flare up in the folds of his arms and legs.

  • This is a really interesting article indeed. I didn’t really know about giving babies probiotics but its really helpful information.
