Since I have had my fair share of skin woes when I was active in beauty blogging (trying out various products on a daily basis can be taxing on the skin!), I have learned to simplify and “green up” my beauty routine significantly over the years. I still have bouts of breakouts from time to time, but there are a few products that I swear by that help remedy this issue. One of my few favorites is argan oil, which I’ll admit that I was apprehensive about applying on my skin when I was first introduced to it a few years ago. Instead of irritating my skin even more, argan oil does the opposite by reducing the redness and inflammation without that icky, greasy feeling. I don’t recommend going overboard, though. It only takes 2-3 drops! It helps fade away old acne scars, too. Also, it’s the only oil that I can use in my hair since it doesn’t weigh it down.
Argan oil is a plant-based oil derived from the kernels of the argan tree (Argania spinosa L.). It is a moisturizing, yet lightweight and highly absorbent oil that has multiple uses: cuticle and heel softener, overnight hair treatment, facial moisturizer, treats split ends, make-up remover, body and bath oil, leave-in conditioner, acne treatment, reduces inflammation, and the list goes on and on!
Authentic argan oil, such as InstaNatural 100% Pure Organic Moroccan Argan Oil, is a bit costly since it’s an extremely time consuming and manual process to make. Therefore, don’t be tempted into buying cheap argan oil since it’s most likely synthetic or heavily diluted, especially if it has a “laundry list” of other ingredients and isn’t touted as 100% pure argan oil. In fact, argan oil should be the one and only ingredient listed. Always keep in mind that authentic argan oil is also kept in a dark colored glass to preserve its freshness.
Win It: One winner will receive a bottle of InstaNatural 100% Pure Organic Moroccan Argan Oil (a $49.95 value).
I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
