Did you know that today is Edith Head’s birthday? Although her name might not ring a bell right away, I bet you’re very well familiar with her work. An Oscar-winning costume designer, Edith has dressed every Golden Age of Hollywood leading lady worth mentioning: Sophia Loren, Grace Kelly, Barbara Stanwyck, Natalie Wood, Audrey Hepburn, Elizabeth Taylor, Doris Day, Bette Davis, just to name a few. She has been nominated for an Academy Award 35 times and won a whopping 8 Oscars!
