Conte’s Pasta Review

In 1970, Angela Conte came to America with her husband Mario and their three children. Arriving in New York, they moved to the Watertown suburb of Boston, MA. Coming from the Abruzzi region of Italy, Angela brought with her the time-honored traditions of generations past.

At a very early age, Angela had begun to spend many hours in the kitchen watching her mother and grandmother as they used their hands to lovingly transform freshly-ground semolina flour into mounds of fresh pasta dough. Soon, she began to help. As the dough was rolled out into sheets and cut by hand, Angela learned the secrets of creating fine pasta that would one day become synonymous with the name Conte.

Scrumptious. Appetizing. Delectable. Succulent. Mouthwatering. Exquisite. All of these words scrolled across my mind like a marquee when I first tasted their Spinach & Cheese Ravioli, one product of several that I received from Conte’s Pasta. It was one of my top favorites, which also included the Potato & Onion Pierogi. Potato & Cheese with Onion, Cheese Lasanga, and Stuffed Shells with Marinara Sauce.

I also received the Cheese Stuffed Shells, Potato Gnocchi, Margherita Pizza with Roasted Garlic and Olive Oil, Pizza Shells, and Cheese Ravioli. Many of them were tantalizing to my tastebuds, but I found the pizza to be my least favorite. This is only because I’m not a big pizza fan to begin with, even though I’ll eat it every once in awhile with my husband and son since they really enjoy it.

I don’t have a gluten intolerance, but I do enjoy eating gluten-free food from time to time. Despite contrary to popular belief, many gluten-free foods are not bland! I’ll admit that I originally believed this until I tried it out for the first time. Not only it’s good for people who have wheat allergies or Celiac Disease, but it’s also a good way to maintain a healthy weight. This is one of the main reasons why I like it, especially since my ultimate goal is to eat healthier and lose 15 – 20 lbs.
