The Organic Skin Co. Review

They’ve called themselves The Organic Skin Co. for a reason! Put simply, they believe that natural, organic products are good for you and for the planet.

In recent decades, the thought that quality skincare needs to be manufactured in a laboratory has somehow gained currency. Fortunately, this seeming triumph of the test tube over mother nature has come under attack in recent years. Increasing concerns are being expressed by many health and beauty experts about the type and quantity of many of the chemicals we have exposed to our skin (and through our skin, our bloodstream). At the same time, recent studies have shown that humans possess natural receptors for medicinal plants. Their bodies respond instinctively to them, welcoming the restorative, regenerative powers they possess.

Their Freshness Juniper Berry Face Wash ($34) leaves my skin feeling smooth and refreshed. I like that it deeply cleanses the skin without any harsh ingredients that usually dries out the skin in the process. It also tones it and removes every hint of make-up. The fragrance is also refreshingly pleasant and uplifting. Sweet Orange is one of the key ingredients, and it is quite evident.

This cleanser is great for all skin types, especially if you have sensitive, oily or acne-prone skin. The Juniperus Communis (Juniper Berry) is detoxifying and an antiseptic. This ingredient is highly recommended for those who suffer from eczema or psoriasis. I have tried many cleansers, and I must say that this one is one of my top favorites. The price is argumentatively debatable for many who are seeking budget-conscious organic beauty products, but it’s well worth the price if you want high quality ingredients. Also, a little bit goes a long way in your cleansing routine.

I used to not be a fan of facial moisturizers, but I’m discovering more and more that don’t provoke an unnecessary break-out. The Luminous Roseship and
Orange Day Moisturizer ($38) is one of them. It deeply moisturizes my skin without making it unnecessarily greasy or icky. Also, it’s very lightweight. I honestly really don’t like using thick moisturizers on my face.

This moisturizer contains 80% Essential Fatty Acids (EFAs). This is the ideal treatment for scars and spots. It works undeniably well for mature and delicate skin-types. Rosehip Oil also makes it an effective agent in helping to dramatically slow the aging process. It is particularly useful when it comes to reversing the process of photo-aging, which derives from extended exposure to the sun.
