Founded in 2003, Gardein (combination of the words “garden” and “protein”), pronounced (gar-deen) is a Canada-based line of vegan-friendly food made from a blend of soy, wheat and pea proteins, vegetables and ancient grains (quinoa, amaranth, millet, and kamut). The majority of their food is low in fat and is free of cholesterol, trans fats and saturated fat. They have a variety of food that is fresh or frozen. You can purchase Gardein throughout the United States and Canada in a variety of grocery stores or supermarkets such as Schnucks, Whole Foods Market, Publix, Safeway, Krogers and Ralph’s.
I received a few coupons from Gardein to try out their food products for free for my review. I was a bit disappointed in Schnucks selection since they only had the Buffalo Wings. However, I wasn’t really disappointed in the Buffalo Wings. These wings can fool just about any meat love. I will note that they were surprisingly spicy! You will not like these at all if you’re not fond of spicy food. This is why I believe that they should update their packaging and mention about it being spicy. I also believe that they should come out with a much tamer version for more people to enjoy. Be sure to have a glass of water nearby!
