Calafant Pirate Fortress Review

Many families are opting for staycations this summer. Therefore, parents are trying to figure out creative and fun ways to keep their children entertained without losing their senses in the process. One of my favorite ways to keep my child entertained is participating in art and craft projects. This is why I’m thrilled that Creativity Toy Shop contacted me to review their Calafant Pirate Fortress ($24.99). It is great to come across a kid’s item that doesn’t call for batteries at times – just their imagination! Not only this pushes boredom away, but this is a wonderful way to foster a child’s creativity.

My son and I have been indoors more than we’ve been outdoors lately, because it has been too humid outside. So the Calafant Pirate Fortress came at a great time. It minds me of the KidsCraft Playhouse I reviewed in the past since both are eco-friendly and allows a child to decorate them however they want. Setting up the fortress was fairly easy and decorating it was a blast! My son loves gathering up his army men in their new fortress that he helped decorate.

Calafant toys come in a kit with pre-cut, pre-punched and easy to build pieces that enables children to build their own toy and decorate it the way they want. Each toy turns out differently from the other and shows the uniqueness of each child’s creativity. The toys are made from 75% recycled material, yet they are very sturdy and serve as robust buildings for lots of pretend play.

The Calafant collection also includes other large toys ($14.99 – $24.99) similar to the Pirate Fortress such as Large Farm, Windmill, Palace, Treehouse, Dollhouse, Castle and Fort with 2 Tepees. The medium size toys ($17.99 – recommended for 3+) include the Farm, Pirate Ship, Rosegarden Palace and Dragonrock Castle. The smaller collection ($7.99 – recommended for 3+) includes a Carriage, Dinosaur, Spaceship, Fire Engine, Steamer, House, Camper, Airplane or Racecar.

Having a party? Buy the Party Pack (8 of their small toys. 9th one will be thrown in for free!) for $63.99.
